This month, our teen book group will be reading The Misadventures of Maude March, by Audrey Couloumbis. Winner of a Newbery Honor, this is the first in a series of books. Sallie and her sister live with their Aunt Ruthie since their parents died, and when the weasely Reverend Peasley proposes to Maude, they sneak out to Missouri in hopes of finding other family. They disguise themselves as boys and get into all sorts of trouble - including getting involved with the man that murdered their aunt! Pick up a book at the circulation desk, and join us for the book discussion on August 12th at 2:00 PM in the Washburn Room. Next month's book will be Chasing Vermeer, by Blue Balliett.
